Is Stretch Therapy the same as yoga? Or Pilates?

  • Stretch Therapy has some similarities, using some of the major yoga poses, however added to the system are techniques from dance, gymnastics, & traditional Japanese excecise forms, where many new techniques and postions have been designed.  The goal of yoga is enlightenment & incorporates traditional asanas (poses) as well as meditation, cleansing and special breathing techniques.
  • The goal of Stretch Therapy is more modest: to increase range of movement, to free the body from pain & to optimize its functions.
  • Stretch Therapy is also designed to target the tight fascial lines unique to the individual

Can I stretch whilst I am pregnant?

  • Yes, though it is advisable to discuss with your health care practitioner before commencing a program.
